Ekklesia Iwiga's Mission Statement
Building a Sacred Community
We were founded to come alongside those on their spiritual journey often searching to restore the spiritual experience left behind in another place. We, the faithful of Ekklesia Iwiga, under the authority of our autocephalous presiding Bishop her Grace +Katia Romanoff of the Ekklesia Epignostika Church have baptized Christians of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church founded by The Divine Master, our Lord, and Savior, Jesus the Christ.
As a community of witnesses of the ancient, orthodox Christian faith, we embrace the authority of the sacred Scriptures and the sacred Tradition of the Apostles, celebrate the Sacraments, hand on the Catholic tradition, faithful to the first seven Ecumenical Councils, professing the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed in its original formula and take part in building up the Body of the Christ.
We provide care and services to ALL, regardless of religious or non-religious beliefs; address the needs of those underserved, and those who may not have access to needed assistance; promote peace, compassion, and mutual understanding among others through programming, advocacy, outreach, and support; and to operate such programs, entities, and activities.
Ekklesia Iwiga celebrates the Universal Call to Holiness by offering highly skilled spiritual direction and discernment to those who seek to deepen their relationship with the Divine by exploring how the Holy Spirit is working in their lives.
Using the finest tools available in the treasury of the Old Catholic traditions, spiritual direction offers support and assistance on our journey towards salvation, theosis.
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, through the intercession of the Holy Theotokos, we dedicate ourselves to a life of penance, love, and forgiveness.
